Where to Stay for Top Marques Monaco 2027: Monaco Apartment or Riviera Villa?
13 September 2026

Top Marques Monaco returns from 5 to 9 May 2027. Compare Monaco, Larvotto, Fontvieille, Cap d'Ail and Èze for private accommodation.
A show week, not a race week
The 22nd edition of Top Marques Monaco takes place from 5 to 9 May 2027 at the Grimaldi Forum. The Avant-Première preview evening is held on 5 May, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, with limited ticketing, and the main show runs from 6 to 9 May. The programme covers supercars, classic cars, motorcycles, watchmaking and superboats, and the previous edition included a Luxury Tuners Hall of some 1,500 square metres.
The distinction that matters most for accommodation is that Top Marques is not the Grand Prix. There is no street circuit, no track closure programme and no wholesale reconfiguration of the Principality's roads. That single fact makes a villa outside Monaco a genuinely viable base rather than a compromise, provided the transport plan is sensible.
Comparing the options
| Location | Typical property | Suits | Strength | Consideration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monte Carlo | Principal apartments with concierge and parking | Exhibitors, manufacturers, senior executives | Walk to the Grimaldi Forum; flexible returns | Entertaining space is limited by apartment scale |
| Larvotto | Contemporary apartments close to the Forum | Teams working the stand across all four days | Shortest movements of all; quieter than the centre | Fewer very large residences |
| Fontvieille | Apartments with substantial parking | Groups arriving with vehicles | Practical parking and easy road access | Less atmospheric for client hosting |
| Cap d'Ail | Villas with gardens and pools | Private clients and hosting groups | Villa space immediately outside Monaco | Gate and driveway access must be checked for low cars |
| Èze and the corniches | Estates with views and grounds | Groups whose stay extends beyond the show | Privacy, scale and setting | Hillside approaches suit SUVs better than supercars |
Manufacturers and brands: the residence as private headquarters
For exhibiting brands, the stand is public and the residence is not. That makes a private house or large apartment useful in ways a hotel suite rarely matches: a morning briefing before doors open, a private lunch with a serious prospect, a debrief after the preview evening, and somewhere to receive a client away from competitors.
If that is the intention, the property should be assessed on its reception and dining rooms, its arrival privacy and its service access, not only on bedroom count. A beautiful apartment with no room to seat twelve is the wrong tool for this job.
Parking, ramps and supercar access
This is the detail most often discovered too late. Monaco's parking is predominantly underground, and ramps, height barriers and turning circles are not designed around modern hypercars. Riviera villas have the opposite problem: generous space but steep, sometimes rough, approaches.
- Confirmed height clearance at every barrier on the route into the parking.
- Ramp gradient and the transition angle at the top and bottom.
- Number of allocated spaces, and whether they are contiguous.
- Turning room for a car that cannot be reversed comfortably.
- Where chauffeur vehicles wait without blocking the entrance.
For a group travelling with significant cars, these dimensions should be verified in writing before a property is confirmed.
Preview night changes arrival planning
The Avant-Première on 5 May compresses arrivals into a short window on the first evening. Guests flying in that day need to change, be collected and reach the Grimaldi Forum within a narrow period, and ticketing for the evening is limited.
A Monaco base absorbs this easily. A villa fifteen minutes out absorbs it only if the cars and drivers are already in position and guest arrival times are coordinated rather than assumed. Where the preview evening is central to the group's purpose, weight the decision towards the Principality.
The hybrid that usually works
Many corporate groups settle on a split: a villa in Cap d'Ail or Èze as the principal residence for hosting, senior guests and evenings, with a small number of Monaco hotel rooms or an apartment for the team working the stand and needing unstructured access to the Forum. It removes the need to shuttle staff back and forth late at night while preserving the space and privacy a villa offers.

Demand around Top Marques is not driven by visitor numbers alone. Exhibitors were reported to be rebooking 2027 space before the previous edition had even opened, which is a reasonable indicator of how early the surrounding commercial programme forms. Groups that know their exhibiting or hosting plans should brief accommodation at the same time, particularly where parking dimensions or entertaining capacity narrow the field.
Summary judgment
Stay in Monaco when the show, the preview evening and unstructured access drive the week. Take a Riviera villa when privacy, entertaining and space are worth a managed transport plan, which at Top Marques they often are, because the roads are not closed. Decide which of those describes your group before comparing individual properties.
