Miami International Auto Show Accommodation: Where Should Executive and Corporate Groups Stay?

A location and residence guide for executive and corporate groups planning around the Miami International Auto Show.

Confirm the show before you confirm the house

The Miami International Auto Show requires an unusual amount of caution at the planning stage. The 2026 edition was cancelled. Organisers and the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association have indicated an expectation that the show returns in 2027, but 2027 dates have not been publicly confirmed at the time of writing. The most recent venue is the Miami Beach Convention Center at 1901 Convention Center Drive.

Third-party event calendars have continued to list dates that do not reflect this position. Before any accommodation is committed, the show's status and dates should be verified with the organiser directly. Planning a corporate programme around a syndicated listing is the main avoidable risk with this event.

Count crossings, not miles

Miami's geography is defined by water. With the Convention Center on Miami Beach, the meaningful question for accommodation is not how many miles a property sits from the venue but how many causeway crossings each daily movement requires, and at what times those crossings happen.

A mainland house in Coconut Grove or Coral Gables may be closer in distance than a property at the northern end of the beach and considerably less convenient in practice, because every trip involves a crossing. Conversely, a beach-side base removes the crossing for show days but adds one for anything happening in Brickell or the Design District.

Waterfront entertaining, properly assessed

Waterfront houses are the reason many groups choose Miami, and they can be outstanding for client entertaining. Treat the dock as a secondary asset rather than the primary one. Boat movements depend on weather and timing, and a dock rarely solves a transport problem that the road network has created.

  • Confirm covered or indoor dining capacity for the full guest number.
  • Check terrace shading and whether evening humidity will move guests inside anyway.
  • Establish where catering staff work and how they reach the kitchen.
  • Confirm vehicle standing for chauffeurs on island properties with single access roads.
  • Agree security arrangements if guests or vehicles of note are staying.

Weather contingency is not optional

South Florida delivers heat and sudden rain in roughly equal measure. Any hosted evening should have an indoor plan that works without compression. If a house can seat thirty outside and twelve inside, it is a twelve-person hosting venue for planning purposes.

The practical corporate structure

For most manufacturer and dealer-group delegations, a principal residence for leadership and hosting, paired with Miami Beach hotel rooms for the stand team, is the arrangement that causes the fewest problems. It keeps the people with fixed venue hours within walking or short driving distance, and it gives the senior group a private setting for dinners and meetings.

Bedroom consistency and parking capacity should be confirmed at the shortlist stage. Miami properties vary widely: a house with eight bedrooms may have four of genuine executive standard and parking for three vehicles, which is a problem discovered late.

Where to begin

Verify the show with the organiser, then define the week as movements and crossings, then decide whether the residence is a working base or an entertaining venue. Those three steps will do more to produce a workable Miami programme than any comparison of neighbourhoods in isolation. Grand Touring Residences sources the property through local South Florida specialists and can coordinate dining, chefs, housekeeping, security and transport where required.
